  Notes	Exact baptismal date is not shown at www.dustydocs.com. 1851 census: eventually found by looking for Harriet, who appears in the following entry: in Melford, George DOWNEY (head, married, 28, ag lab, birthplace obscured by crossings-out but could be Alpheton, Suffolk), Maryan DOWNEY (wife, married, 20, birthplace unreadable). Then, squeezed in below Maryan's name, Harriet DIVER (daughter, 9 months, birthplace unreadble). Whilst the census clearly says 'Diver' I think this Harriet must have been the one whose birth was registered in Q3 1850, but although the image of the relevant BMD index page is faint, the forenames look more like Harriet Lever than Harriet Diver. So Harriet is shown here as Harriet Lever Downey. I can't find Harriet in the 1861 or 1871 censuses but she re-appeared in 1879 as a witness at her brother's marriage - see her Notes. George's wife died, only 27, in Q4 1857 1861 census: in Hall Street, Melford (both DOWNEY), George (widower, 31 ag lab, born Melford) and Henry (son, 7, scholar, born Melford). George's other son Charles was living with George's brother David. I can't find Henry's birth registration around 1854. I can't find George in 1871 but his children had moved to London - see their Notes.
