Born in DeWitt, Arkansas, June 4th, 1893 Died in Lynnwood, Washington, Sep 4, 1975. The son of William David Cole and Effie Ellen (Smith) Cole, attended schools in Dewitt, Arkansas, held an L.L.B. Degree from Chicago University, and was a member of the Bar in Arkansas. His business career included law and public relations.
He married Garie A Simms, in Dallas, Texas, on May 17, 1915. He enlisted in the Army Corps of Engineers in World War I as a private and was discharged as a captain after service in Siberia.
Brother Cole joined William McKinley R.A.M., and knitted in Apollo Comradery, K.T. He received the Sottish Rite Degrees in 1928, and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award in 1945. He was Most Wise Master of Gourgas Chapter, Rose Croix in 1949, and served a term as Secretary of the Valley of Chicago in 1950. He was created a Sovereign Grand Inspector General 33°, Honorary Member of the Supreme Council, on September 26, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts.
He was the author of a well-known book entitled “Masonic Gleanings.”
A Masonic service was conducted by the Everett Chapter, Rose Croix of Washington.
