He was a son of Sylvanus Abner Minter (1834-1912). 1910 United States Federal Census: In Justice Precinct 2, Hopkins, Texas (all Minter, all born Texas except Sylvanus), G Z (head, 40, married 15 years, doctor in general practice), Margie (wife, 33, married 15 years, 6 children 5 living), Getta (daughter, 13), Grace (daughter, 11), Forrest (son, 7), Hazel (daughter, 4), Marlin P (son, 9 months) and S A (father, 76, widower, own income). Also John WATSON (bachelor, 48, born New York, farmer).
