    Notes
    • The Argus, Melbourne on 31 May 1877 reported that the Victorian Humane Society's bronze medal was awarded to Thomas Minter, 14 years, Adelaide Lead for rescuing Syndon Kennedy Gibson from drowning in the Timor Creek on 12 October 1875. 'Minter brought Gibson to land after considerable difficulty'.

Thomas probably moved to New South Wales and the following Electoral Roll entries are likely to refer to him:

The 1930 Electoral Roll for Moree, Gwyndir, NSW included:
Thomas Minter, Blevin, Garah, station hand.
The line above probably relates to Thomas's brother Alfred (qv).

The 1936 Electoral Roll for Moree, Gwyndir, NSW included:
Thomas Minter, Laurel Vale, Garah, station hand.
The line above probably relates to Thomas's brother Alfred (qv).

The death in 1937 is assumed to refer to this Thomas, although the parents' names are shown on the index are John and Isabel.

January 2021: an email from Colin Minter contained information from a letter he recieved on 19 January 1990 from John Codis which quoted from John Codis' uncle Bill Yates's diary, as follows:

Friday 2nd July 1937 Moree all day, came out as far as Warringulla, Tom’s condition low.
Saturday 3rd July 1937 Tom died Moree hospital aged 76 years. I went to Moree before tea to make arrangements to have him buried.
Sunday 4th July 1937. Tom Minter buried in Moree. Came out as far as Warringulla.
Monday 5th July 1937 Tom Minter left me £725 on fixed deposit at Garah Bank, and £70 on a current account."
