Made a conditional purchase of land at Nambucca River, Australia in 1868.
Said to have sailed seven times around the world before settling in Australia and to have been one of three sailor brothers who deserted ship at Melbourne, Australia in the 1860s, one of whom was killed in Victoria and another who lived in Queensland.
Lived at Nambucca residence, Macleay River in 1869 - 71; a farmer at Nambucca River Macleay District, NSW; lived at Tennessee, Macleay, NSW in 1886 - 87.
Made insolvent on 12 July 1878; at the time he was a labourer residing on the Richmond River, NSW (Gail Gniewosz, April 2007). This is confirmed by Sydney Morning Herald on 13 July 1878 (citation http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article13421814):

Left an interest in brother's Will in 1910.

NEWCASTLE.
COTTAGE BURNT DOWN.
NEWCASTLE, Tuesday.
At an early hour this morning a three roomed weatherboard cottage, situated in Hobart-road, New Lambton, and owned and occupied by Mr. M. G. Minter, was totally destroyed by fire. Minter was the only person in the house at the time, and is unable to say how the outbreak originated. Tho building was insured in the Commonwealth Insurance Company for £100.
