| Notes |
- 1901 census: Janes (20, bricklayer) was lodger in Brandon, Suffolk.
James appears to have emigrated to America in 1906 as entries in the US census suggests:
1910: in District 61, Pasco, Franklin, Washington, a lodger, age 29, bricklayer, building company.
1920: In Rochester Ward 10, Monroe, New York, a boarder, aged 40 working as a bricklayer in a construction company.
His death in Jun 1978 at age 97, with a birth date given as 2 August 1880 (recorded in the SSDI) seems to confirm the above. The SSDI shows his last address as 14606, Rochester, Monroe, New York.
