In 1881, aged 13, a scholar, she lived with her parents John (72, a tailor, born Portsea) and Deborah A (44, born Newington, London) and her brother George D (10, scholar) at 225 Fratton Street, Portsea. Both Ada and George were born in Portsea.
Ada married William SAUNDERS in Q1 1888 (Portsea I 2b/689). William died soon after they were married, either in Q4 1888 at age 47 or, more likely, in Q3 1889 at age 32. At the time of the 1891 census Ada, now a widow aged 23, a draper's assistant, was living with her widowed mother Deborah A WITHERS (54, tailoress, born Walworth, London) and her brother George (20, a solicitor's clerk) at 7 Brougham Road, Portsea. Ada was to marry Albert Edward Minter a few months later.

On July 12 1948 at The Grange Nursing Home, Morden, after a short illness, ADA, dearest wife of ALBERT EDWARD MINTER. Funeral 12 noon, Friday July 16 at Bulmer, near Sudbury, Suffolk.
