Served in India, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Africa and Italy. Received the European Theater of Operations and Mediterranean Theater of Operations ribbons. "Howard completed his freshman year at East TX State Teacher's College then joined the military serving the US Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant for four years. Later he was the Superintendent of Production for Marathon Oil Co.
