The Times (London, England), Monday, Oct 29, 1962; pg. 6; Issue 55534 carried the following report: BOY OF 15 CHARGED WITH MURDER DOVER, Oct 28 A fitter's mate, aged 15, was charged here today with the murder of Leslie Powell Minter, aged 42, dock worker, of Tower Hamlets Street, Dover. He will appear before the magistrates in the juvenile court tomorrow. Police found Mr Minter lying on the floor of his living-room early today. He was taken to hospital with severe head injuries and died an hour later. The Times (London, England), Tuesday, Oct 30, 1962; pg. 7; Issue 55535: BOY OF 15 REMANDED ON MURDER CHARGE A boy, aged 15, was remanded in custody for seven days at Dover juvenile court yesterday accused of murdering Leslie Minter, aged 42, dock worker, of Tower Hamlets Street, Dover, early on Sunday. Police-inspector J A Lewis said that he went to Mr Minter's home and saw him on a camp bed in the living room with severe head wounds. Mr Minter was taken to hospital where he died an hour later. The inspector said tha he saw the boy with a shotgun in his right hand. "I asked him who did this and he replied 'I did'". At the juvenile court on 5 November it was revealed that the accused boy was Leslie's son Christopher, age 15, a fitter's mate. He was remanded until November 13.
