| Notes |
- Bob White note:
Dorotha says he moved to Chatham Co., N C from Va. with his brother William Minter & d. by 1790, leaving a widow & 4 sons & maybe 4 daughters, but have no record of them.
Don Chamberlayne has James as 'James (or Jeremiah)' and James's wife as Margaret.
February 2012. James Minter died 1780 is mentioned in 72 trees at Ancestry. Some have his birth as 1706, Caroline VA, to Anthony Morgan Minter and Elizabeth Michaux Morgan. A larger number have his birth as 1720, Virginia, mother just Elizabeth or 'unknown', or Elizabeth [other surname]. All seem agree he died in Chatham NC. One tree has James's wife as Elizabeth (with a male child Cary); three others have the wife as Margaret (with two children, Anthony and Cary). There is no IGI entry for a Cary Minter born/baptised in VA or NC.
June 2015. James might have been the ancestor of a John Minter who was born about 1818 in Tennessee. The line hasn't been properly established but John Minter and his decendants are included in this Minter family as a free-standing group. They can be found under John Minter born abt. 1818, Tennessee, RIN number 6617.
