    • 1851 census: in Strand Street, St Mary Sandwich, Kent, Ann (35, housekeeper), with Isaac WITHERDEN (48, unmarried, coal & salt merchant, born Ash, Kent).

      Not found as Ann Minter in 1861 - probably married in 1853. However, for some reason this marriage took place in London so without the marriage certificate we cannot be 100% sure. But censuses for 1861 to 1891 seem to support the idea that Samuel Christian's wife was this Ann Minter (see his Notes), and the 1911 census proves it fairly conclusively: Ann's son Thomas was then living with his aunt Harriet FINNIS. Harriet FINNIS was Ann's sister.
