1871 census: at 14 Fitzroy Street, St Pancras, London (all RODGERS) Katherine (wife, married, 30, actress, born London), Elenor (daughter, 5, born Hanley, Staffordshire), Lilian C (daughter, 3, born Birmingham) and Katherine F (daughter, 2, born Birmingham). Also a visitor from Hanley, Maud L BETTERLY single, 29) and a domestic servant, Ellen LOCKETT (31).
Not found in any other UK census. Katherine went to America some time between 1869 (when she appeared at Drury Lane with Henry Irving in Formosa, or The Railroad to Run by Dion Boucicault) and 1873 (when she appeared in the New York production of Boucicault's Mimi). According to the source of these dates, The Uncompromising Victorian - The Law and the Family in the Plays of Dion Boucicault, online at http://www.edizioniets.com/Priv_File_Libro/3314.pdf,:
"1873. He [Boucicault] and [his wife] Agnes receive American citizenship. Agnes returns to England alone. He sets up house in New York with Katherine Rodgers."
