Form signed Ernest Edward Minter. Ancestry.com have Ernest's service record in connection with a WW1 pension claim. It shows that he joined the Royal Engineers as a driver on 13 May 1915 at the age of 31 years 3 months and served 1 year 18 days until his discharge as no longer fit for war service on 30 May 1916, intending to live at Hethersett, Norwich, occupation horseman. Address on enlisting was Cecil Road, Norwich, age 30 years 3 months. Next of kin wife Jane Elizabeth Minter of Cecil Road, Norwich (Jane Elizabeth Baldwin - married at Hethersett on 27 March 1909). Three children, Daisy Maude, born 16 October 1909 at Blofield, Norfolk; Myrtle May, 8 January 1912 at Hersett and Ernest Rober,t 24 April 1914 at Cecil Road, Norwich. He served with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force from 1 February 1916 to 4 April 1916. A medical board of 18 April 1916 reported that Ernest had a tumour of the skull, of unknown origin; not the result of, and not aggravated by, active service.
