  Notes	November 2009: until now, John was shown as married to Jane WATERS but it's now been realised that Jane married John Minter born about 1866 of the Suffolk Unknown group. Jane and the children have been moved to their proper location. 1901 census: at 12 Shepherds Bush Green, Hammersmith, London, John (34, hotel assist., born Chelsea), Alice M (38, requi-ation agent on own account at home, born Ipswich, Suffolk) and William C MEDHURST (son, 12, scholar, born Glynde, Sussex). There were also 8 boarders. 1911 census: at 32 Drive Road, Preston, Sussex, Alice (head, 51, widow, married 12 years, 1 living child, born Ipswich, Suffolk) and William Cooper MEDHURST (son, 22, chauffeur, born Glynde, Sussex). The house had 4 rooms and Alice signed the form. It's not clear what happened to John - there's no sign of a death registration between 1901 and 1911. There is no sign of Alice's death - she may have remarried in Q3 1917 at Chertsey to Thomas WARD but the marriage certificate hasn't been obtained. A William C Medurst, probably Alice's son, married in Chertsey in Q1 1916.
