    Notes
    • June 2020: email from Jacob Dilworth:
"I reached out to you some years back regarding the Minter ancestry in the USA and their connection with ancestry in England. My grandfather is Thomas J. Minter. He maintains the Minter's website for the USA. I wanted to inform you that his health has declined in the past year or two. His wife (my grandmother), Faye (Phillips) Minter, recently passed on May 18th. With his ailing health, he has entrusted the website's maintenance to me.

I am reaching out to see how you are doing? I am wanting to plan a trip over to the UK for a visit and to do some familial research. Drop a line when you can. I do need to keep in touch with you. Hope all is well with you and your loved ones. Talk to you soon."

September 2021: further from Jacob, including news that Thomas Jackson Minter died in June.

      From findagrave.com, December 2021:

Thomas Jackson Minter, age 90, of Oklahoma City, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021.

Tom recently celebrated his milestone 90th birthday with a big dinner party that included many family members in attendance.

He was born on May 16, 1931 in Witchita Falls, Texas to Lottie Lucille Jennings and Olvis Jackson Minter.

He married Faye Phillips on February 5, 1952 and they had celebrated 68 years of marriage at the time of her death in May 2020.

Tom was a military veteran and served in the Army during the Korean War. He received his bachelor's degree in industrial arts from Oklahoma City University (1956); his master's degree of industrial education from the University of Oklahoma (1958); and then completed his Phd from the University of Toledo, Ohio (1970). For most of his teaching career, he was a college professor and taught at the University of Toledo. After a long teaching career and raising his family in Toledo, he retired and returned with Faye to Oklahoma where they had both grown up and it was a land they loved. They lived in Moore, Oklahoma for the last 10 years of their lives.

Tom enjoyed the study of genealogy and his family history. He wrote two books on the subject called "The Minters of Pine Forest - A Family Story" and "Stories of Saltillo." A promoter of education and an avid reader, he especially enjoyed books on the Civil War. On May 18, 2021, HarborChase Senior Residence, where Tom lived, dedicated its new library in honor of Thomas & Faye Minter, who donated the majority of books to start the reading area for its residents.

Tom and his wife Faye loved to travel throughout the United States visiting various family and friends, historic sites, and fun destinations. Sending postcards from his travels was something Tom did routinely, and a card or letter from him was instantly recognizable because of his perfect penmanship.

A good joke and twinkle in his eye were a hallmark of Tom. His family and friends always knew they could count on him to provide that spark of fun, a comical prank, or warmhearted laugh. But his good-natured side also went hand-in-hand with his great wisdom and sage advice which he often shared with his family.

Watching movies was a favorite pastime of Tom's and he loved the old classic films with the iconic movie stars. Tom also loved a good cocktail, a home cooked meal, and never turned down dessert, especially his favorite of coconut cream pie.

Other interests of Tom's included gardening, photography, writing, and flying. He had a pilot's license for small aircraft in his younger years.

Tom is survived by his four daughters Vicki (Minter) Mason and husband Mike Mason of Oklahoma City, Kim Minter-Rohrich of Portland, Oregon, Kelly Dilworth of Toledo, Ohio, and Crystal Minter of Portland, Oregon; 8 grandchildren Jessica (Mason) Ignacio, Steven Mason, Christopher Massaad, Samantha (Rohrich) Wade, Katharine Rohrich, Alec Massaad, Jacob Dilworth, and Justen Dilworth; 2 great-grandchildren Carolyn Mason, and John Wade; 6 nieces and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Faye Minter, his sister Betty (Minter) Gaetz, and his mother Lottie (Jennings Minter) Wynne and his father Olvis Minter.

Tom's final resting place will be next to his beloved wife Faye at the Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Together Forever.
