  	The NSW archives contain papers from 1 Jun 1937 to 14 Nov 1938 relating to Bertie and Edith's divorce. The index to the papers mentions Elwyn Hilton Bryant. The following came from Trove. It was originally published on 8 April 1938 in the Newcastle Morning Herald and Miners' Advocate: "MINTER v. MINTER. A decree nisi, returnable in six months, was granted after the Judge had heard an application by Bertie Minter, a shop assistant, of New Lambton, for the dissolution of his marriage with Edith May Minter (formerly Sams) on the ground of adultery. Mr. T. A. Brays (Messrs. Braye, Cragg and Cohen) appeared for the petitioner. Petitioner said they were married on November 2, 1929, by a Lay Methodist minister. There were no children. On November 11, 1935, while he was at work, respondent left a note telling him she was leaving. He later went to Killarney (Queensland), when he obtained information from the police. Sergeant J. A. Fraser, of Brisbane, said that he had previously been stationed at Killarney. There a man named Elwyn Hilton Bryant and a woman, known as Edith May Bryant, lived as man and wife."
