Notes	Alfred's birth was registered in Q3 1864 but he wasn't baptised until 5 February 1871 when his parents had their four sons George Frederick, Alfred Henry, Walter Ernest and Francis Herbert baptised on the same day at St Giles, Camberwell. At the time, the family lived in Edmund Street, Camberwell and father William James LOWIS was a slater. Mother's name Mary Ann. The 1871 census shows Alfred living with his parents at 5 Edmond Street, Camberwell, together with a sister and 6 brothers. The Summerfield Family Tree at ancestry.com (July 2014) has a copy of Alfred's death certificate. It confirms the above parents' names, gives Nellie as Alfred's wife's name, and mentions 4 children: Kathleen Frances KOBRIN Herbert Minter LOWIS Doreen Beatrice HORN Reginald Gordon LOWIS. The Summerfield Family Tree at ancestry.com says that Alfred was married before he married Nellie Minter, to Mary MOLONEY at St Saviour, Guernsey, Channel Islands, on 17 Feb 1886. It also says Alfred and Mary had 3 children: Mary Ann LOWIS, Dec 1882, Camberwell Elizabeth LOWIS, 1886, Camberwell Lewis Albert G LOWIS, Mar 1889, Camberwell I haven't been able to verify this marriage so haven't included it here. There were Lowis children birth registrations which match the 3 children mentioned but I cannot find baptisms in London for them.
