    • Ancestry.co.uk UK, Register of Duties Paid for Apprentices' Indentures, 1710-1811: the following entry might refer to this Matthew:
      Apprenticed on 22 February 1744 to Alex. Durrant of Orford, blacksmith.

      From Graham Minter's 'Minter Story", June 2012:
      " married Elizabeth Block in Wickham Market on 14 June 1763. They must have then moved to Orford as that parish issued a settlement certificate to the parish of Wickham Market on 3 October 1763 accepting full responsibility for Matthew and Elizabeth. Matthew is described as a hawker. We have found no record of any children. In the 1780s they were occupying the Cross Inn in Wickham Market as "tenants at will". The inn was advertised for sale in the Ipswich Journal of 5 June 1784, but we have found no evidence that this affected Matthew and Elizabeth's tenancy."

      Matthew was probably buried, aged 72, at All Saints, Wickham Market on 13 July 1800. His wife Elizabeth is assumed to have been the Elizabeth Minter buried at the same place on 12 December 1815, aged 79.
