    • November 2007: Cliff Minter wonders why 'Harry' was baptised at Hoath when he was said to have been born at Bullockstone, the other side of Herne. He speculates that his mother Jane had Buddle relatives, perhaps a sister, living at Hoath.

      1881 census: aged 16, a farm servant, living at Port Farm, Upstreet, Chislet, Kent with Thomas Hogben and family, a farmer of 205 acres.

      1891 census: at Haine, St Lawrence, Kent, Henry T (25, farm labourer), Jane (26), Katie (3), Elizabeth (1) and Henry's brother Frederick (18, farm labourer).

      1893-1894, living at Haine St Lawrence. Then at Philpotts Farm Minster, where he drove a steam tractor engine for thrashing and ploughing.

      1901 census: at 2 Solihull Cottages, Monckton, Kent, Henry Thomas (34, ag lab), Jane (36), Kate (13), Elizabeth (11), William Henry (9), Walter James (7), Ellen (5), Emily (3) and Frank (6 months).
