  Notes	Kept haberdasher's shop in Gosport High Street (nr Portsmouth). A compulsive gambler on the gee-gees, they were always short of money but still lived in style with housemaid in cap & apron. I remember visiting them so he must have died after 1940. All the sons were white collar workers, representatives, etc. No issue from any, so Alex Minter's line died out. In 1881 Alexander (22, a draper's assistant) was living with his brother William at 55 Oak Village, St Pancras, London. 1891 census: at 552 Commercial Road, Portsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire, Alexander (33, draper's assistant), Martha (27) and Frederick (5 months). 1901 census: at 105 Leisland Road, Alverstoke, Southampton, Hants, Alexander (43, furniture salesman), Martha (38), David Alex (12, school boy), Frederick (10, school boy), Alfred (9, school boy) and Edw?
