(3 months). 1871 census (indexed under MENTER): at 22 Oak Street, Barnsley, John (44, linen dresser), Elizabeth (38, linen and cloth warper), Mary E (13, linen winder), Sarah A (11, scholar), John Rd (10, scholar), William J (8, scholar), Hannah (6, scholar), Elizabeth A (3) and George Henry (1). 1881 census: at 22 Oak Street, Barnsley, John (52, linen warp dresser), Elizabeth (48, linen warper), Sarah A (21, linen warper), John R (20, coal miner), William James (18, coal miner), Hannah (16, paper folder), Elizabeth (13, scholar), George Henry (11, scholar) and Emma Jane (6, scholar). 1891 census: at 22 Oak Street, Barnsley, aged 61, a linen warp dresser, with wife and 1 child (Emma Jane). 1901 census: John died in 1898 but Elizabeth continued to live at 22 Oak Street. With here were her daughter Elizabeth A. now BARTON, her husband Harry BARTON and their son James BARTON; and Elizabeth A's children from her first marriage, Anne and Ada IBBESON. 1911 census: Elizabeth (77, widow, born Barnsley) was still living with her son in law Henry BARTON (48, coal miner), her daughter Elizabeth Ann BARTON (43, married 10 years, 4 children, 3 living 1 died), and children Annie IBBESON (19, single, grocers assistant), Ada IBBESON (15, machinist) and James BARTON (10). They were at 6 St Bart's Terrace, Dobie Street, Barnsley, Yorkshire (4 rooms) and Henry Barton signed the form. John J Minter, October 2016: My Gt. Grandfather's death was recorded in the [Barnsley] Chronicle. Unfortunately I don't have the exact date of the paper. Barnsley Chronicle, 1898 Deaths Minter - December 4 at 22, Oak Street, John Minter, factory operative, aged 72 years. (NB he died of pneumonia - notified by son John Richard Minter!)
