- A labourer at Minster, Thanet in 1833 and at Southwood, St Lawrence in 1838.
Probably a witness on 7 July 1838 at the marriage of Thomas Staines and Elizabeth Twyman and on 25 February 1841 at the marriage of George Knight and Jane Catherine Minter, both at Minster, Thanet.
1841 census: in High Street, Sandwich, Kent, William (30, labourer), Ann (30), William (9) and Elizabeth (3). Also in the house was Richard Gifford (4) - it's not known who he was.
1851 census: at the Three Kings Inn, St Peter, Sandwich, William (43, victualler), Ann (37), William (17, victualler's son) and Elizabeth (12).
Appeared in the 1852 Post Office Directory of Kent (Kelly's) as William Minter, Three Kings, Strand Street, Sandwich.
Appeared in the Directory of Kent, Melville & Co, 1858 as William Minter, Admiral Owen, Strand Street, Sandwich.
1861 census: at the Admiral Owen, High Street, Sandwich, William (53, licensed victualler, born Sandwich) and Ann (49).

1891 census: (William died in 1881): in High Street, Sandwich, Ann (77, living on own means) with her son William (59, retired customs officer) and his wife Mary J (54).
