  Notes	Per Christine Small, in Ireland between 1869 and 1876 as children born there. 1881 census: at 10 Ho 4 Court Whitley St, St Martin, Liverpool, (all CLINKER) Sarah (wife, married, 34, labourers wife, born Ireland), Anne (daughter, 11, scholar, born Ireland), Mary C (daughter, 9, scholar, born Ireland) and Francis (son, 2, born Liverpool). 1891 census: at 20 Idris Street, St Martin, Liverpool, (all CLINKER) Sarah (head, married, 44, housekeeper, born Ireland), Annie (daughter, 21, mineral water bottler, born Ireland), Francis (son, 12, scholar, born Liverpool), Sarah (daughter, 9, scholar, born Liverpool), Charlotte (daughter, 7, scholar, born Liverpool), Lizzie (4, scholar, born Liverpool) and James (son, 1, born Liverpool). 1900 US census: lodging in West Street, Manhattan, New York (together with several other lodgers), William CLINKER (born March 1841, 59, married 32 years, born England, immigrated to USA in 1859, 41 years in the USA, naturalized, sailor). 1901 census: at 20 Barmouth Street, St Martin, Liverpool, (all CLINKER) Sarah (head, married, 53, housekeeper, born Ireland), Ann (daughter, 28, wine bottling stores, born Ireland), Francis (son, 21, seas mariner, born Liverpool), Sarah J (daughter, 19, domestic servant, born Liverpool), Charlotte (daughter, 17, card board box maker, born Liverpool), Elizabeth (14, card board box maker, born Liverpool) and James (son, 11, born Liverpool). At the same address was married daughter Mary - see Notes for Stephen Finucane. Several of the children married before the 1911 census but Elizabeth (23) and James (21) were living with their sister Annie and husband John OWENS. 1920 US census (March 1920): William CLINKER (79, widower, immigrated in 1887, naturalized in 1895, born England, no occupation) was in the New York City Home for Aged and Infirm, and Central and Neurological Hospital, in Manhattan, New York.
