Sarah appeared in Kelly's Directory of Kent, 1878 as a china, glass and earthenware dealer of Chapel Street, Herne Bay. 1881 census: at 83 Mortimer Street, Herne, Sarah H (47, widow, shopkeeper in china & glass), George (20, apprentice to cabinet maker), Henry (19, apprentice to tin plat maker), Laurence (17, no occupation), John M (16, no occupation) and Philip (12, scholar). Sarah appeared in Kelly's Directory of Kent, 1882 as Mrs Sarah Harrison Minter, a basket maker, china dealer and dealer in fancy goods of Chapel Street, Herne Bay. 1891 census: at 7 Victoria Terrace, Herne, Sarah H (57, widow, lodging house keeper) and Lawrance (27, joiner). I female general servant. 1901 census: in The Street, Littlebourne, Kent, Sarah H (57, housekeeper). 1911 census: at 40 Mortimer Street, Herne Bay, Kent (1 room), Sarah Harrison O A Pensioner, head, 77, widow, needlework, worker, at home, born Canterbury, Kent).
