On this day 19th December 1844 at 9 a.m, Henry Teetgen MINTER 26,commissioner-interpreter in this town, came before us the undersigned, deputy mayor of Boulogne sur mer to declare his wife Catherine GREENFIELD 25, gave birth to a male child the day before yesterday at 8.15 p.m at their home and they wish to name him HENRY JEAN.
The said declaration and presentation of the child was witnessed by the father's friends John LAMING 28 and Jean PERLET 30 both shoe makers and residents of this town. After the reading the father and witnesses signed the declaration.
[Note that Henry John was officially though perhaps by mistake Henry Jean. The date of birth, calculated from the above, must have been 17 December].
