  Notes	Cliff Minter: Always known by the family as Charles Daniel. Living at Worth Street in 1861, a scholar with parents and at Vine Cottage, Durlock, Ash in 1871, an apprentice with parents. Witness at Ash on 7 December 1876. Appeared in Kelly's Directory of Kent, 1882 as Charles Daniel Minter, market gardener, Sheerwater, Ash next Sandwich. Living at Sheerwater Ash as Charles David in Register of Electors for 1884 with house and land at Sheerwater; a farmer of Harbledown in 1890; a dairy farmer of Court House, Harbledown in 1893; living at Court House, St Thomas' Hill, Harbledown, providing furnished appartments in 1893 and 1894*. A cabinet maker with smallholding at Sholden. * Pikes Blue Book for Canterbury and District, 1893 - 94 and 1894 - 95. May have visited Australia in 1887 - the list in the Victoria Public Records of Unassisted passengers arriving at Victoria includes Chas. D Minter, 34, who arrived on the 'Garonne' in November 1887. 1891 census: at Court House, Harbledown; Charles D (36, dairy farmer), Charlotte E (32, born Dover), Edith E (6), Daisy E (5) and Charles H (2). Edith and Daisy were born at Ash near Sandwich, Charles H at Staple near Wingham. Appeared in Kelly's Directory for Kent, 1895 as Chas Daniel Minter a farmer of Court House, Rough Common, Harbledown. Appeared in Kelly's Directory for Kent, 1899 as Charles Daniel Minter a farmer & fruit grower, Hallfarm Sholden. Also as a farmer at Court House, Rough Common, St Thos. Hill, Harbledown. 1901 census: at Hull Farm, Sholden, Kent, Charles D (46, farmer), Fanny A (50, born Mersham, Kent), Charles H (12, born Staple), Winifred M (8, born Harbledown). Edith (16) and Constance (5) were staying with their grandparents Thomas (73, baker) and Sarah (67) FLINT at 32 Street, Dover. Although her birth place is given as Deal, the Daisy Minter (16) working as a kitchen maid at Great Ropers, South Weald, Essex was probably Charles Daniel's daughter. Went to Canada after second marriage * and then to Australia about 1912. Aged 88 when he died in 1942. * Evidently without his wife, who was living as head of household at Clayfield Villas, Lynsted, Sittingbourne, Kent (5 rooms) at the time of the 1911 census. Fanny was 62, had been married for 13 years and her occupation was 'needlework and from boarders'. Australian Electoral Rolls, 1936, 1937 for Colac, Corangamite, Victoria include at 41 Hart Street, Colac: Charles Daniel Minter, gardener Hughina Margaret Cameron Minter, home duties. Charles died in 1942: Australian Electoral Rolls, 1943, 1949 & 1954 for Colac, Corangamite, Victoria includes at 41 Hart Street, Colac: Hughinia Margaret Cameron Minter, home duties.
