  Notes	From findagrave.com, Jan 2015: NORFOLK - Hugh Wightman Minter, 90, of the 8400 block of Old Ocean View Road, died May 26, 1988, in a Virginia Beach hospital. Mr. Minter, a native of Henry County, Virginia, was a member of Axton Baptist Church in Henry County. He had retired from Gateway Rug Shop. Mr. Minter was a member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge 266, John Walters Royal Arch Chapter 68, Scottish Rites, Khedive Shrine Temple, Elizabeth Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 45, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4. Survivors include his wife, Pencie Copeland Minter; a stepdaughter, Faye Tarkington of Roper, N.C.; three stepsons, Richard Copeland of Milledgeville, Ga., and Joe Copeland and Melvin Copeland, both of Edenton, N.C.; a sister, Annie M. Holland of Axton, Va.; 10 stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. William F. Gregory. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Masonic rites will be accorded at the funeral home. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk Scottish Rite Foundation, P.O. Box 7140, Norfolk, 23509.
