From findagrave.com, Jan 2015: Mr. William O. Minter, aged 66 years, an esteemed citizen of Martinsville for the past 18 years, died on Saturday night after a prolonged illness of several years. The funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church, of which the deceased was a faithful member. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery, where the Masons officiated. The deceased is survived by five sons and two daughters: W. O. Minter Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; J. T. Minter of Norfolk; Frank E. Minter of Atlanta, Ga.; Saffold A. Minter of Richmond; Robert O. Minter of Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.; Mrs. Louise Hedgecock, Martinsville and Mrs. T. J. Childress, Roanoke. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: T. G. Minter of Leatherwood; J. D. Minter of Roanoke; Mrs. Julia A. Slaydon of Martinsville; Mrs. Mollie Bondurant of Figsboro; Mrs. Sarah F. Burch and Mrs. I. M. Groves, both of Martinsville. His wife, who was Miss Sallie Bondurant, daughter of the late J. S. Bondurant, died about three years ago. Mr. Minter was born and reared at Leatherwood in this county, and for some years conducted a successful mercantile business there. He came to Martinsville about 18 years ago and for the greater portion of the period of his residence here he was connected with the Martinsville Grocery Company until he had a paralytic stroke and became an invalid.
