  Notes	From findagrave.com, Jan 2015: THE HENRY BULLETIN, Tue., July 12, 1927, page 1, col. 6: (edited) Mrs. J. W. Burch, 78, died Sunday afternoon at her home on Brown Street and was buried Monday afternoon in Oakwood Cemetery. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Death came Sunday after a long period of poor health which reached an acute state some two weeks ago. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Mary Burch, with whom she made her home for many years, and four sons, T. G. Burch, J. J. Burch of Roanoke, Waller Burch of Richmond and the Rev. W. G. Burch, Methodist minister of the Virginia Conference. Mrs. Burch was born in Henry County near the Leatherwood district, and lived in Martinsville for a third of a century. Her husband was one of the independent tobacco manufacturers, operating a plant at Dyers Store, the building now being torn down. Three sisters and two brothers also survive, Mrs. L. M. Groves Sr., Mrs. Mary Bondurant of Princeton, W. Va., Mrs. Julia A. Slaydon of Leatherwood, T. G. Minter of Leatherwood and J. D. Minter of Roanoke.
