    • Ancestry.com.au - UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960 has:

      Arrived at London from Sydney on 2 March 1956 aboard the 'Orontes' (having embarked at Adelaide), G R Minter born 25 June 1920, single, intended address 7 Green Lane, St Albans, Herts, occupation greaser; planned duration of stay in Egland, 1 year; holiday.

      This individual was contacted in the 1970s, when he was apparently living in South Australia, by Rex Minter who did a lot of research in Australia. The contact is mentioned in a letter to Cliff Minter but beyond confirming that he came to Australia in 1952 (sic - see above) from Hertford and confirming that his father was Richard Minter, one of several brothers & sisters, there is no information about George's life in Australia.

      Appeared in the World Book of Minters, c. 1992 at 49 Mclaughlan Road, Windor Gardens, South Australia.

      January 2024: George Richard Minter's death is listed in the Australian Cemeteries Index website. It appears that he had a daughter in 1969 (who died in 1977) but I haven't found anything to suggest who George married.
