  Notes	Edward must have been a widower when he married Mary. In 1861 aged 41, a fruiterer born Canterbury, he was living with his then wife Ann at 33 Palace Street, Archbishop's Palace, Canterbury. With them were two sons, William H (8) and Edward A (6), both born Canterbury. Edward A was still living with his father and second wife Mary, in Palace Street, in 1871. Edward's first wife may have been Ann JACOBS - see BMD index for Q4 1849 Canterbury 5/149.
