Farmed at Treasury Farm with mother - see her record for details of censuses 1851 & 1861 Appeared in F G Harrod & Co's Postal and Commercial Directory of Kent, 1867 as George Minter, farmer, Treasury Farm, Ickham. 1871 census: still at Treasury Farm, Ickham, George 61, unmarried, and brother John 53, also unmarried, farmed 210 acres acres employing eight men and two boys. Appeared in the Post Office Directory of the Six Home Counties - 1874 Vol 2 Kent as Geo. Minter, farmer, Treasury Farm, Ickham, Sandwich. A second entry, for George and John Minter, farmers of Wingham, Sandwich may also refer. Appeared in the Post Office Directory for Kent, 1878 as George Minter, farmer, Frognall, Wickhambreaux. 1881 census: at Frognall Farm, Wickhambreaux, George, 71, unmarried, was now a farmer of 60 acres employing three men. Brother John (63, unmarried) was still with him and they had been joined by sister Sarah A (70). Appeared in Kelly's Directory of Kent, 1882 as George Minter, farmer, Frognell, Wickhambreaux. England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations),1861-1941 (at Ancestry.co.uk, Nov 2010): 10 March 1884 Personal Estate £2794 14s 10d. The Will of George Minter formerly of the Parish of Ickham but late of the Parish of Wickham both in the County of Kent Farmer who died 16 November 1883 at Wickham was proved at Canterbury by John Minter Gentleman the Brother and Sarah Ann Minter the Sister both of Wickham the Executors. Tombstone in Wickhambreaux: In memory of George Minter who departed this life November 16th 1883 age 74 years also Sarah sister of the above, died May 1st 1890 age 79 years also John Minter died March 9 1893 age 75 years.
