Dr. Glen Allen Minter, 53, of Wichita Falls, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, October 3, 2014 at St. Paul UT Southwestern Medical Center, surrounded by many family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Chaplain Susan Lanford, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Glen was born on January 25, 1961 to Margaret Ann and Earl Allen Minter in Baytown, Texas. He graduated as salutatorian from Joshua High School in 1979. He attended Texas Tech University and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1983. Glen received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1987. During his residency in Family Practice in Conroe, he was named Chief Resident. After completing the program, he was employed as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in the Conroe Clinic Residency Program. In 2005, he accepted a job for the Wichita Falls Family Practice Residency Program. At the time of death, Glen was an Associate Program Director and an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine for the program. Glen remained a bachelor for much of his life and enjoyed many hobbies, including traveling, hunting, collecting, woodworking, and watching movies. However, his life changed forever at the age of 46 when he met and married the love of his life, Darcy Brown. The two were married on October 20, 2007 and, along with Darcy's daughters, had seven very happy years together. Glen was preceded in death by his father, Earl Minter. He is survived by his loving wife, Darcy; daughters, Jessica and Maddison Baggs; mother, Ann Minter; sister, Martha Petraitis and her husband Mike; nephews, Dustin and Nathan Petraitis; and many in-laws, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
