Vlissingen, Holland
Some of these pictures were supplied by Margaret Young. Those which appear in the La Trobe Picture Collection at the Sate Library of Victoria, Australia are reproduced with the Library's permission.

Dr Michael Minter. Evidently taken about 1862 by Eugen de Balk of Geelong, Victoria. The original photo is endorsed on the back "Ada  from her affectionate Papa Mount Moriac 3rd May 1862".

Dr Minter's wife Eleanor Edmonds Minter nee Jeffery. The photo probably dates from 1866: it is endorsed on the back "Eleanor Edmund Minter nee Jeffreys wife of Michael Minter MD. By appointment E. de Balk, Geelong. Ada Peck 24th Feb 1866".

The two photos above are of Dr Minter's daughters Flora (born 1854) and Ellen (born 1856), the first at the ages of 12 and 10, the second at 20 and 18. The photographer of the second picture was of Foster & Martin, 55&57 Collins St E., Melbourne.

A photograph from about 1857 of the Minter family homestead at Mount Moriac near Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

Taken between 1855 and 1857, this photo shows the Minter family in garden, buildings, paddocks and trees behind them: Dr Michael Minter, Eleanor Minter, Michael Minter, Ella Minter (later Mrs Lethbridge), Rosa (later Mrs Phillips), Ada (later Mrs Peck), Flora (later Mrs Gregson), Ellen (later Mrs Otter) and a baby boy in his mother's arms.

Taken about 1898 at Mitchell, Queensland, the above photo shows Robert Copland Lethbridge and his wife Ella nee Minter.

John Minter

Swingfield, Kent
(from Jan Pedersen)

John Minter was a well-known solicitor and coroner in Folkestone. This picture appeared in Memoirs of The Minter Family by George Warden Haines (John Minter's nephew), privately printed in 1937.

Percival Augustus Minter
born 1892,
Fulham, London
(from Margaret Young)

Probably taken during WW2. Augustus and his wife Ruby May nee Barratt are shown with their daughter Barbara. Barbara was engaged to Tom but he was killed in action.

Otto Minter
born 1859,
Barking, Essex
(from Marion Claxton)

Otto married Martha Hannah Fuller in February 1881 in London. Martha was born about 1862 in Wells next the Sea, Norfolk. Her picture is below.

The identity of these two naval gentlemen is unknown. They are possibly associated with the family of John Moolenburg Minter. Both photographs were provided by Valerie Page.
