- Olive and her brother Stanley emigrated to Canada in 1924. They were passengers on the 'Montreal' which departed from Greenock on 18 April 1924 bound for Quebec & Montreal. Stanley was 23, a driver, and Olive 17, a domestic. They gave their address as 1 Stanly Drive, Bellshill (Scotland). Stanley apears to been travelling 1st class; Olive, 2nd class. They intended to make Canada their future permanent residence.
The equivalent Ocean Arrivals Form gives similar information but in addition tells that Olive was a Baptist. She confirmed her intention to remain permanently in Canada "to make [it] my home". She had £6 with her. Her passage was paid by her brother Sydney T Hill. Olive's destination was Mrs A Urie [Olive's sister Blodwen], 471 Lincoln Road, Walkerville, Ontario, Canada. Olive gave her nearest relative in Scotland as her parents, Mr & Mrs - Hill, Stanley Drive, Bellshill, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
