- Was abroad when father died in 1795. Served on board HMS Daphne as Able Seaman from 19 September 1796 until discharged for HMS Royal William on 21 October 1797. Served on HMS Centaur as Able Seaman from 29 October 1797 until he died on 24 May 1798 whilst vessel was at sea. Clothes auctioned with amount raised paid with wages to widow Mary. No record has been found of Michael's marriage.
