      William, George and Ann were Mary Ann's children from her marriage to Thomas Minter (James's uncle).

      James was alive at the time of the 1891 census, living with Mary Ann in Boxted. but there is no sign of him at the 1901 census. A James died, aged 72 i n Q. Mar 1894 (Billericay 4a/262) but if this was James of Boxted, the reason for his being in Billericay is a mystery.
