Notes |
- Baptised the son of George Golding (fisherman) and Sarah Elizabeth of Brightlingsea.
1891 census: no trace.
1901 census: in Ringwood Road, Branksome, Dorset, Ernest J (33, labourer at electric light works) and Ruth (32).
It appears that Ernest spent some time in Canada - the following Canadian census entries look as if they refer to him (even though he appears as John in 1916!):
1911: in Humbolt, Saskatchewan, Ernest James (head, born March 1868, 43, born England, farmer), Ruth (wife, born June 1868, 42, born England) and Joseph (son, born June 1897, 15, born England). All entered Canada in 1907.
1916: in Beaver, Last Mountain, Saskatchewan, John (sic) (head, 48, born England, farmer), Ruth (wife, 47, born England) and Joseph (son, 20, born England). All entered Canada in 1907.
The mention of a son Joseph is interesting - he wasn't mentioned in 1901 and no trace of his birth registration has been found.
1939 Register: at 47 Regina Cottages, Kingland Road, Poole M.B., Dorset
Minter, Ernest J born 14 Mar 1868, married, retired insurance agent
