      Charles was employed by the White Star line as a steward. He made many trips between England and the USA. There are several records on Ancestry.com, the first of a trip on the "Olympic" which left Southampton on 13 July 1921, the last being dated 1927.

      Charles appeared in the 1925 State Census of New York. He was 22, unmarried, doing office work, and rooming at 174 Nagle Avenue, New York.
