      Richard Percy Minter served in the RAF for over 20 years during which time he was awarded the MBE for bravery during his time in Burma in WW2. He worked on a farm when he left the RAF but that was only for a while. He then went on to work at Vauxhall Motors, Luton until his retirement in 1972.

      July 2014: British Royal Air Force, Airmen's service records 1912-1939 at findmypast.co.uk:
      Joined the RAF on 26 August 1927, first mustered as an aircrafthand Group V, later an armourer. Civilian occupation liftman at Regent Palace Hotel, Piccadilly Circus, London W, from 19 Feb 1926 to 25 Aug 1927. Next of kin mother Mrs M Minter, 22 Weston Road, Olney, Buckinghamshire. Served in Malta in 1929.

    born 22 March 1907, Plymouth, Devon. Taken in the early 1930s when Richard was serving in the RAF and stationed in Malta. It was taken at The Vernon Studio, Malta. Pauline Minter, who supplied the picture, is Richard's daughter.
