J. Harden Minter, 76, lifelong Henry County citizen and farmer, and for a number of years a resident of Martinsville, passed away Thursday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. S. G. Lawing, Gravely Street, after several weeks illness.
Funeral services were held from the Lawing residence Friday afternoon.
Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
Sons and sons-in-law of the deceased acted as pall-bearers: J. H. Minter Jr., J. J. Minter, Mike Minter, J. F. Minter, D. L. Minter, W. S. Minter, and R. J. Clift.
Flower bearers were: Sewell Lawing, B. B . Thomasson, J. L. Carter, J. B. Davis, James H. Minter, D. R. Warren, A. Schilbe, C. E. Warren, P. W. Minter, R. J. Fagg, Irving Minter, Edwin Moore, W. C. Shumate, J. W. Shumate, J. C. Napier, Joe L. Stultz, Jr., J. A. Stultz, A. W. Harday, J. S. Minter, G. T. Winn, H. S. Winn, J. M. Winn, Roy Prillaman, H. A. Richardson and others.
Surviving are the following children: J. H. Jr., J. J., Mike, J. F., and D. L. Minter; Mesdames C. S. Moore, R. J. Clift and S. G. Lawing.
